Three club members book into a campsite in their campervans. The charge for the site is ten pounds per van. They pay the thirty pounds at reception and look forward to enjoying their stay. Unfortunately it rains all day. The site owner takes pity on our group and decides to refund five pounds of their money as a gesture of goodwill. He sends the handyman over to them with the five pounds. Our happy campers are very pleased with this gesture so only take a pound each and give the other two pounds to the handyman to buy a pint. So in the end it only cost our members nine pounds each for their stay. Hang on a minute...3 x 9.00 = 27.00..They gave the handyman 2.00..This only makes twenty nine pounds in total. How do you account for the other pound from the original thirty email me with your answers.
How many times do you think you can fold a piece of paper in half?
It makes no difference what size the piece of paper is. It can be postage stamp size, a sheet of A4 or the size of a football pitch, it makes no difference. Whether the paper is ordinary writing paper or the thinnest of tissue paper makes no difference either. This might sound a silly question but it is not possible to fold any piece of paper in half more than eight times. Sounds ridiculous? Try it and see.
